Which is the best PMP certification training course in Melbourne, Australia?

If you are looking for the best PMP certification training course in Melbourne, then don't look any further. This is a detailed review of three courses that will help you to study and pass your exam if it's not too far away.

I'll start by saying this isn't an exhaustive list but here we go:

There is no doubt Kaplan has trained more than their fair share of people who have gone on to become certified project managers.

They offer both classroom sessions as well as online modules which can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection and allow flexibility when it comes to taking time off work or continuing education.

The content covered includes lots of great information about the various techniques used by project managers around the world.

The other course I would recommend is the Career Academy of California. They offer a rigorous review of project management principles and how to apply them in real-life situations.

Many instructors provide their experience as well as insights into how they've used these skills on previous projects.

Lastly, there's Kaplan University which offers three different paths for obtaining PMP certification: classroom instruction with an instructor who will help you prepare your resume and cover letters; online modules that can be accessed from anywhere so it doesn't matter if you're at work or not - just log on when it suits you best; or interactive video courses where students ask questions directly to the tutor via webcam right then and there! This last option has been found by many students to be the most effective.

What is PMP (Project Management Professional)?

PMP is a registered mark of the Project Management Institute, Inc. which indicates that the individual using it has met all qualifications and passed a rigorous exam in project management principles as published by PMI.

It is not an acronym for something else; this means there is no letter "M" because they are trying to follow suit with other acronyms like MBA (Master of Business Administration) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant). The P stands for Project Management Professional!

The PMP credential was first introduced by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 1986, but only after being adopted by PMI did it gain any type of widespread recognition among practitioners.

In 2000, ISO began work on standardizing the education and examination process for PMP, which was finalized in 2005.

There are three levels of the credential: CAPM (Certified Associate Project Manager), PgMP (Professional Graduate Management Program), and PMP.

CAPM or PgMP certificate?

To obtain a CAPM or PgMP one has to complete an educational coursework program that meets ISO's requirements on project management standards as well as pass the exam from any authorized training provider/accrediting organization such as the International Accreditation Organization for Standards and Quality Education (IAO-SAE).

To achieve their final level -PMP- holders have to pass both certification exams, also called Knowledge Units or KUs.

The two parts of this test are made up of four hours each and are given a week apart. The cost of the exam is $405 while retaking it after failing costs $555 per retake.

PMP stands for Project Management Professional - a registered mark of the Project Management Institute, Inc which indicates that an individual has met all qualifications and passed rigorous exams in project management principles as published by PMI. P stands for Proejcts!

What is PMI?

PMI stands for Project Management Institute. The organization is the leading international body of representatives from project management practice, education, and research.

PMI currently has over half a million members in 180 countries worldwide.

Their mission statement: "To advance the global community’s knowledge about project management." They also provide standards, certification programs, resources, and other services that help organizations improve their performance through increased efficiency and effectiveness in managing projects with greater success rates.

Membership in this society can be earned by taking an exam called PgMP or CAPM as well as demonstrating experience on any level of work in project management for at least five years (or three if you are under 32).

This includes working in a related role such as project engineer, program manager, or scheduler.

Other certification programs of PMI in Melbourne, Australia

PMI is also an educational organization that offers the following programs:

Certification in Project Management (PgMP)

Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM)

Award of Recognition for Contributions Toward Global Advancements in Education by Operations Research & Other Related Disciplines Awarded jointly by The American Society for Engineering Education - ASEE and The Institute of Industrial Engineers - IIE.

PMI is a not-for-profit organization.

The PgMP certification exam has been the most recognized program by recruiters and hiring managers in recent years as well as from job boards such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Dice.

It was also found that candidates who are PMP certified to receive an average of $11,000 to $15,000 more annually than those without it.

However, these findings were done with data collected up through 2015 so they may have changed since then.

History of (PMP) Project Management Professional certification programs

The Project Management Institute (PMI) was created in 1969 and began awarding project management credentials to qualified professionals.

In 1976, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published their first set of standards for project management with help from PMI: ISO 1000:1975 "Project Management" became an international standard that has been translated into 14 languages.

In addition to these great resources on the history of PMP or Project Management Professional certification programs, many other providers offer certifications such as The American Association of Public Administrators Certification and Accreditation Board's Certified Public Manager Designation.

There are also different types of certificates available including a Certificate in Business Administration issued by The Commonwealth Secretariat at Cambridge University which is accredited by the London College of Business Administration.

What's the PMP Certification cost?

The PMP Certification cost varies based on your location, certification level (standard or expert), and how many days you study.

The price is usually $560 for each standard exam section and $680 for each expert-level exam section, which is both valid for two years.

You can also save on your PMP Certification cost by purchasing the exam vouchers in bulk and taking advantage of study discounts.

The average total price for a standard or expert-level certification is roughly $700, depending on how many sections you purchase.

The more questions you answer correctly during the exams, the less it will cost to become certified. Be sure that you are confident with all topics before sitting for an exam!

Where can I study PMP in Melbourne?

There are a few universities in Melbourne that offer PMP courses, but most of these courses last for three months and need you to commit yourself full-time.

One university offers a part-time study with online modules as well as offline lectures on selected days.

The University of Melbourne has been accredited by AACSB since 1957 which means it is one of Australia’s top-ranked business schools offering over 60 programs at undergraduate levels including an MBA (Master of Business Administration). Read more: PMP Certification Training in Melbourne, Australia

The institution also follows international teaching standards, and research expectations and promotes lifelong learning opportunities.

You can apply directly through their website where they provide an International Applicants webpage.

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is another option. It has been ranked as one of the top universities in Australia for engineering and technology, with a strong focus on business management courses such as MBA and Master of Professional Accounting.

UTS also offers flexible study options including part-time options that allow you to work while studying.

Radford College is yet another university located within Melbourne City Centre offering postgraduate programs either full or part-time.

This institution’s primary areas are art, design, and communication; architecture, planning, building, and construction; humanities; social sciences and law; health studies/health care professions; science technologies/applied disciplines, and physical activity/leisure studies but they do not offer any postgraduate programs on PMP.

PMP at the University of Melbourne, Australia

The University of Melbourne offers a Master of Professional Accounting (MPAc) that is accredited by the Securities Institute.

The MPAc degree has an integrated program with finance and management courses for students who want to pursue careers in auditing or accounting.

The structure makes it possible for graduates from this course to take their CFA exam while still enrolled in university, following completion they can work as accountants with experience across the spectrum of financial markets.

The curriculum includes a range of compulsory core subjects which are designed to meet both international standards and specific local needs such as tax advisory services offered by firms operating within the Australian marketplace.

These will include areas like Audit and Assurance Services; International Financial Reporting Standards; Strategic Management and Business Policy; Economics for Accountants; Taxation Law.

There is also a range of elective subjects that you can choose from, including Financial Markets Practices and Risk Analysis to International Accounting Standards or Auditing & Assurance Services.

The Master's degree is highly sought after by graduates in Australia because it has the CPA qualification at its core without requiring two years more study (as with a law degree).

This makes it attractive for students who don’t want an academic career but still want to work as accountants within the finance industry.

PMP at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS)

Students enrolled in the Master of Project Management program are provided with a suite of learning resources to help them succeed.

This includes access to an online library, an iPad cart for use on campus, and 24-hour support from staff across UTS.

PMPs can also work alongside like-minded individuals within their degree cohort group by joining one or more student clubs such as the Lean Six Sigma club and which offers students real-life experience through industrial placements and international projects.

Enrolled PMPs will have opportunities year round to participate in global conferences where they get exposure to industry experts who share best practices while developing their networks.

Such events include the Global Leadership Forum in Singapore, Achieving Excellence in Project Management conference (AEP), and the Asia Pacific Leadership Development Conference.

Is PMP certification popular?

Yes, PMP certification is popular. Some of the reasons why people get this credential are that they understand how important it is to show stakeholders and sponsors that as a project manager you have taken on board all the knowledge required for your role.

It also shows employers you can handle difficult circumstances with ease due to the experience gained from taking an exam like this one.

You will need more than just study materials such as textbooks or flashcards; there are many professional certifications available to guide candidates through their studies which make getting certified easier by providing them with additional resources not found elsewhere.

Examples include: CSC-PMP Bootcamp Training Course Certification Bundle, PMI-ACP Exam Prep Boot Camp (Exam Practice Test Questions), and The PM PrepCast® for Project Managers.

Conclusion: PMP certification is popular because it helps project managers make the right decisions due to their expertise and experience.

It also shows employers they can handle difficult circumstances with ease which either makes or breaks them from getting a job offer.

Many professional certifications are available to guide candidates through their studies, making it easier by providing them with additional resources not found elsewhere such as textbooks or flashcards that hold information usually required of all project manager roles regardless of industry-standard qualifications, etc., so there's no need to worry about feeling like you'll be left out if you don't have previous teaching experience on top of your work history; instead, just study up!

PMP vs BVOP

What is the PMP? The Project Management Professional (PMP)® accreditation, provided by the Project Management Institute, is an internationally recognized professional credential.

It demonstrates that a project manager has achieved a certain level of competency in five core process groups: initiating projects; planning and executing programs with multiple resources; advancing knowledge through research and promoting best practices in theory development.

Project managers who have earned their certifications must also maintain them every three years with 40 hours of continuing education to remain current on industry trends.

The BVOP certification focuses exclusively on leadership skills for managing software products from idea inception all the way through deployment to customers and support throughout their lifecycle.

Software engineers are often involved at some point during this process and the BVOP is designed to help them improve their skills in software product management.

The test assesses both technical knowledge of software engineering concepts as well as business-related topics, such as managing markets and market research.

The project manager's level of experience will influence which sections they are tested on so that a novice might not need to answer all questions while more experienced managers may be asked about specific areas like marketing or customer service.

PMP vs PRINCE2

I am sure that, like me, you have often seen discussions about which certification is better. You may know a lot of people who are PMP certified and not PRINCE2 certified or vice versa.

The truth is that there are pros to both certifications but it's difficult to determine which one is "better." Let's take a look at each certification in more detail so we can make an educated decision as to whether either should be pursued based on your current knowledge level and career goals.

PMP Certification: If you're looking for the most widely-recognized project management credential worldwide then Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) might fit your needs best. It was developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is globally recognized.

What requires the PMP credential?

The PMP credential requires the successful completion of 35 hours of project management education, including a minimum number of 20 hours in formal classroom settings (vs. eLearning/courses) and three years or more experience as an accredited Project Management Professional with at least five years of managing projects that meet stringent criteria for scale.

A rigorous exam must also be successfully completed to earn this certification which covers topics from baselining through closeout, including:

  • Project Integration Management - tailoring solutions to customer needs while meeting strategic objectives;
  • Scope Change Control - negotiating scope changes throughout the life cycle;
  • Schedule Planning & Control - sequencing activities on time and within budget constraints;
  • Cost Planning & Control - managing budget on a project by project basis;
  • Risk Management - anticipating problems before they happen and taking mitigating action when they do arise.
What is PRINCE2 Certification?

The PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate is the first level of certification in Prince II, which has been used around the world since 1989 as an internationally recognized framework for good business practice.

A PRINCE2 Certified practitioner can demonstrate their ability to apply tools and techniques that have produced measurable results within complex environments with unpredictable issues.

This simple but powerful set of skills makes them an invaluable contributor to any organization's success. It requires the completion of 30 hours of study or course work (vs eLearning) including assessments from PMI-approved PRINCE2 courses.

PRINCE2 is a project management framework that combines the best of traditional Project Management (PM) and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

It enhances PM by applying systems thinking principles to achieve predictable results in an environment where nothing can be taken for granted. The basics include:

Resilience - adapting flexibly while maintaining momentum;

Responsiveness - responding quickly and appropriately to dynamic events, new information, or changing priorities;

Continuous Improvement – repeating successes through continuous self-improvement.

All three are critical factors for success in any complex endeavor.

The process consists of four phases that produce measurable outcomes: Plan & Prepare, Implement, Closeout and Review.

Six Sigma vs PMP

PMP is a project management certification offered by the Project Management Institute and Six Sigma is another type of quality assurance that helps to ensure certain standards are met.

PMP certifies individuals in all aspects of project planning, leading, executing, and monitoring. The exam requires preparation for four areas: Monitoring & Controlling Projects; Leading People on a Team or Working with Stakeholders; Planning Projects utilizing Lessons from Past Experience (or How I Manage); Tools & Techniques.

Six Sigma focuses mainly on developing methods for identifying defective products at their source before they reach customers.

It's the process of using a mix of statistical methods to reduce variation in manufacturing processes. Companies often use Six Sigma as an alternative to Lean Manufacturing and other quality enhancement programs with varying degrees of effectiveness.

PMP certifies individuals for all aspects of project planning, leading, executing, and monitoring

The exam requires preparation for four areas: Monitoring & Controlling Projects; Leading People on a Team or Working with Stakeholders; Planning Projects utilizing Lessons from Past Experience (or How I Manage); Tools & Techniques.

To become certified as an expert in those fields there are requirements including education level (graduation degree), years of experience, work hours devoted to each area studied, etc.

How is the PMP exam conducted?

The PMP exam has been around for decades, but its format of it changes from time to time.

Currently, three different formats can be taken; computer-based testing (CBT), paper and pencil test (PPT), and tablet-based testing (PT).

The CBT is conducted on a touch screen in a location other than where you would take an open-book exam like the SAT or ACT.

50 multiple-choice questions

It includes 50 multiple-choice questions with four answer options each. You're given 90 minutes to complete this section which is about one hour longer than required by most high-stakes tests such as the GMAT or GRE exams because they usually have two hours allotted for completion while PPM only allows 75 minutes per question.

To pass the exam, you need to answer at least 43 questions correctly.

The PPT has a much shorter time limit because it is done on paper and pencil which can take up more room than just using your fingers to tap an iPhone or iPad screen.

The PMP only requires that test-takers complete 85% of this section to qualify for passing with 68 out of 83 questions answered correctly which includes double-checking their answers before submitting them into the system.

There are no partial points awarded; if you get even one question wrong then you fail this portion as well as CBT tests.

Tablet-based testing for PMP

Tablet-based testing is a new technology that hasn't been put into widespread use yet but will probably be offered soon enough given how quickly the technology is evolving.

It's the newest format for CBT testing and will be on an iPad or tablet with a touch screen just like in the other formats of PMP exams taking place today.

The main difference here, besides being done on an Apple product instead of something from Microsoft, is that you're allowed to open your book during this test as long as it remains closed throughout the exam which makes this option favorable for students who are used to high stakes tests where they can't use any outside sources while answering questions at all.

The time limits may vary between each type of PMP exam but there are some basics no matter what kind you decide to take: You'll need pen and paper to complete the PPT section if you want partial points awarded for any answers, or you'll need to use a tablet with your test book open if you choose the PT option.

What are the topics of the PMP exam?

The PMP exam topics are divided into 47 instructional units and the following five process groups:

  • Initiating Projects, Planning Project Work;
  • Acquiring Resources to Perform Project Work;
  • Executing Project work, Monitoring & Controlling project work so it's completed on time and within budget,
  • Closing out a project.

The candidate passes or fails each unit separately. The examination contains 200 questions that cover all material relevant to achieving certification as a project management professional.

A Guide To The Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK).

Questions pertain to both theory and application of knowledge for candidates to be able to apply this knowledge when leading projects. Candidates' responses will not affect their score until they have answered all 200 questions.

Tips for passing the PMP exam from the first attempt

The PMP exam is often difficult to pass. It contains challenging questions that require you to demonstrate a deep understanding of project management and the related concepts, terminology, principles, models, and other knowledge areas to answer correctly.

The good news for you is there are some tips available on how to make sure you don't have any difficulties with your test preparation or when it's time for the testing day!

There are many different ways one can go about studying to be prepared for this intense examination we call the PMP Exam.

Some individuals may prefer self-study while others might want more support from instructors/leaders. Some choose between either classroom or online learning environments which offer instruction at alternative times as well as in a location that is most convenient for the individual.

Looking at each of these options, it would seem that there's no definite right or wrong answer to this question:

Which way should I study?

The best response could be found by creating a balance between all three methods: classroom setting-educated instructor who knows how to prepare you for the test and ensure your success self-study with PMBOK Guide (a comprehensive guidebook on project management practices)-positive reinforcement from the facilitator/instructor and online learning environment which offers instruction at alternative times as well as in a location that is most convenient for the individual.

These are just some possible ways to study to prepare for this intense examination we call the PMP Exam.

The four-hour exam is often too long to handle without taking any break, so individuals should take breaks every hour or two to prevent fatigue and maintain a healthy mindset when approaching the questions on the test.

In addition, these short breaks can help you retain information as well as keep your concentration level high - which are both essential elements when trying to answer difficult questions! If this wasn't enough convincing that it would be wise for you to incorporate this type of strategy into your study plan, then consider that research has shown an improvement in performance from those who took regular breaks during their examination time (as compared with those who didn’t).

Taking frequent mental/physical rest periods may be the answer

To prepare for this intense examination we call the PMP Exam, it's important that you have a realistic goal in mind and not set yourself up for failure by aiming too high.

The best way to avoid these types of negative outcomes is to read through each question carefully (as well as take your time), make sure you understand what information is being asked of you, and then mark down your answers before moving on so there are no surprises later when reviewing those responses!

Remember: don't rush - if any questions seem difficult or confusing at first, move on to another one because eventually, they will become clear with some patience!

About Melbourne

Melbourne is the capital of Victoria, and also a city in Australia. It has been famously called one of "the world's most liveable cities" since 2011 by Monocle magazine.

The Economist Intelligence Unit ranked Melbourne as the third-most livable city in the world for 2017.

What does it mean to be ‘liveable’? Liveability refers to an assessment that evaluates what it takes for someone or something to have a good quality of life concerning their surroundings such as transport links, cultural attractions, air pollution levels, etc.

Naturally, this means there are some things we can do better than others but overall Melbourne ranks really well on these measures so far according to data collected from 2008-2016 studies:

Transport: In Melbourne, you have a good quality of life because public transport is well-developed.

The proportion of people riding bikes to work was at about three percent in 2006, and the number has been increasing since then.

Trains are frequent which helps reduce traffic congestion on roads. Public parking spaces are available around most places where people live or visit for business purposes (ie., CBD).

These policies promote carpooling and bus use by overusing cars alone.

Cultural Attractions: This city has a rich history told through buildings, monuments, galleries as well as parks and gardens across the metropolitan area that make it a tourist destination with more than 15 million visitors each year adding significant economic value to its residents who enjoy this amenity.

Air Pollution: Due to the city's geographical location, air quality in Melbourne is typically better than that of other Australian cities because it does not have a large urban center and there are few sources of industrial pollution such as power plants or manufacturing facilities located within its limits.

Air quality has improved since 2008 due to initiatives by government authorities and various organizations for cleaner public transport policies, reductions in private car use (such as higher parking fees), etc.

Melbourne also ranks well when compared with many international locations including London, Paris, New York City, Los Angeles, and Beijing but you can rank all these places yourself using our interactive map tool here if you so wish!

Who is the project manager?

There are many project managers in the world, and they can be found doing all sorts of work.

Some manage small projects like bookkeeping for a company or planning an event on their own.

Others may specialize in managing large-scale projects such as building bridges, designing skyscrapers, or manufacturing products at factories.

Regardless of what type of project these people might be working with though, there is one trait that every good PM must possess: empathy.

If you want to maintain high morale among your team members and ensure everyone feels included throughout any given task (or whole project), then you must understand how they feel about the challenges ahead--and will feel when the job is completed successfully.

What better way to do this than by being a good listener, and consultative leader?

    Hello there!

When selecting a PMP certification training course in Melbourne, there are several key factors to consider to ensure you make an informed decision. Here are the factors you should keep in mind:

Accreditation and Quality: Choose a training course offered by a reputable and accredited provider. Look for courses endorsed by the Project Management Institute (PMI) or delivered by PMI Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.s). This ensures that the course meets the rigorous standards set by PMI.

Course Content and Curriculum: Evaluate the course content to ensure it covers all the knowledge areas, processes, and concepts outlined in the PMP Examination Content Outline provided by PMI. The course should provide a comprehensive understanding of project management principles, tools, and techniques.

Instructor Expertise: Assess the qualifications and experience of the instructors delivering the training. Experienced instructors who have themselves obtained PMP certification can provide valuable insights and real-world examples to enhance your understanding.

Training Format and Duration: Consider your preferred learning style and availability. Training courses can be delivered in various formats, such as in-person classroom sessions, virtual instructor-led training, or self-paced online courses. Choose a format that aligns with your preferences and fits your schedule. Additionally, consider the course duration and ensure it provides sufficient time for comprehensive learning.

Study Materials and Resources: Inquire about the study materials and resources provided with the training course. These may include textbooks, practice exams, online resources, or access to a learning management system. Comprehensive study materials and resources can greatly support your exam preparation.

Exam Preparation Support: Check if the training course offers specific exam preparation assistance, such as mock exams, sample questions, or study groups. Adequate exam preparation support can boost your confidence and readiness for the PMP certification exam.

Cost: Compare the cost of different training courses while considering the value you will receive. It's important to balance the cost with the quality and reputation of the training provider.

Obtaining PMP certification offers several benefits for your career growth and development:

Industry Recognition: PMP certification is globally recognized and demonstrates your commitment to the project management profession. It validates your knowledge and skills, enhancing your professional credibility among employers and peers.

Expanded Career Opportunities: PMP certification opens doors to a wider range of career opportunities. Many organizations, especially those involved in complex projects, prefer or require PMP-certified professionals to lead their initiatives. It can lead to roles such as project manager, program manager, or portfolio manager.

Enhanced Project Management Skills: The PMP certification process equips you with a comprehensive understanding of project management best practices, tools, and techniques. This knowledge allows you to effectively plan, execute, monitor, and control projects, resulting in improved project outcomes.

Networking and Professional Development: Being a PMP-certified professional provides access to a global community of project managers. Networking opportunities and professional development resources can support your continuous growth and keep you up to date with the latest trends and practices in the field.

Increased Earning Potential: PMP certification is often associated with higher earning potential. According to PMI's Earning Power Salary Survey, PMP-certified professionals tend to earn higher salaries compared to their non-certified counterparts.

In your article exploring the best PMP certification training courses in Melbourne, be sure to include a comprehensive analysis of the factors mentioned above. Provide detailed information about each course's cost, duration, study materials, and exam preparation support. Additionally, consider including testimonials or reviews from past participants to showcase the effectiveness and value of the training.
